Welcome to the Fourth Day

A Cursillo Weekend launches us into something greater. Those three days are not meant to stand alone — they activate and prepare us for a lifelong mission. What begins on the Weekend continues as the Fourth Day: every day that follows, lived in friendship with Christ and shared with others.

The Fourth Day is about carrying the encounter with Christ into the ordinary places of life — family, parish, friendships, workplaces, and communities. It is the time when faith becomes action, when prayer matures into a deep relationship, and when joy overflows into service.

The Cursillo Movement provides both a method and a community to help Christians live as leaders in the environments where God has placed them. No one walks this journey alone. In friendship there is encouragement, in shared prayer and study there is strength, and in gathering together there is renewal to keep living the call.

At its heart, the Fourth Day is simple: stay connected, keep growing, and let the love of Christ shine through daily life. And always remember — Christ is counting on you.

Group Reunions

The mission of the Fourth Day is lived out one week at a time, and the Group Reunion is its heartbeat. Small groups of three to six Cursillistas gather weekly to share faith and hold one another accountable for living as active witnesses of Christ.

Each meeting follows a simple structure:

Piety

How have you prayed and encountered the Lord?

Study

What have you read, watched, or listened to that has helped your faith grow?

Action

How have you shared Christ with others in daily life?

Closest Moment

Where did you feel Christ most near?

Plan

What is your plan for prayer, study, and action in the week ahead?

Ultreya

The word Ultreya means “Onward!” — a fitting cry for those who have been launched into mission. Ultreya is the monthly gathering of the wider Cursillo community, a place to recharge, share the journey, and be strengthened for the road ahead.

Ultreya keeps the flame alive. It reminds us that we are part of something larger than ourselves — a family of faith, encouragement, and mission. It is where we hear again the call: onward with Christ!

Each Ultreya follows a welcoming structure that usually includes:

Table groups for prayer, study, and action.

Fellowship over a meal or simple hospitality.

Witness talks, where someone shares how Christ is at work in their life.

Discussion, prayer, and joyful song that rekindle zeal.

School of Leaders

The School of Leaders (SOL) equips us to live the mission more effectively. It is not just a meeting — it is formation, growth, and preparation for service. Here, Cursillistas deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and the Cursillo method so that they can bring Christ into the world with confidence and clarity.

Each gathering follows a purposeful structure:

  • Grouping among SOL participants
  • Doctrinal talk presented by a Priest or Deacon
  • A study topic discussion on the Cursillo movement
  • Breakout discussions led by the three chairpersons for Pre-Weekend, Cursillo Weekend, and Fourth Day

The School of Leaders ensures that our mission is not just sustained but strengthened. It is where gifts are refined, leaders are formed, and servants of Christ are prepared for action.

Serve & Share Your Gifts

The Fourth Day calls us not only to grow but to give. Every Cursillista is launched into mission with gifts entrusted by God — and Christ is counting on us to use them.

Be a Sponsor

Sponsorship is an act of mission. It is more than inviting someone to attend a Weekend — it is discerning, through prayer, who God is calling; building a true friendship; and walking with them before, during, and after their Cursillo. Sponsors help launch others into their Fourth Day while continuing to grow themselves.

Serve on a Weekend

Team service makes the Cursillo Weekend possible and allows others to experience the encounter with Christ. Whether through prayer, music, hospitality, talks, or simple acts of service, every role matters. Team members should be active participants in weekly grouping, Ultreya, and School of Leaders. Team members are not only serving others; they too are renewed, equipped, and strengthened in their own mission.
